The 2017 Bical was aged for eight months in used French oak ("Tonel - Barrica," the winery says, meaning half in barrels and half in 3,000-liter Chestnut vats) and comes in at 12% alcohol. This adds a layer of concentration to the Arinto, but it's different rather than better or worse. Not quite as lively as the Arinto, it shows good depth and the roundness to be a typical table wine.
