Josh Raynolds, December 2017 (Vintage 2015)

Vivid magenta. Primary red and blue fruit aromas, along with suggestions of pungent flowers and Indian spices. Sappy, mineral-laced boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors deepen and become sweeter with air while maintaining urgency. Rich but vibrant in style, finishing very long and juicy, featuring repeating floral character and smooth, harmonious tannins that lend gentle grip.

Roger Voss, March 2019 (Vintage 2016)

From vines close to the 19th-century chateau of Bellevue, this wine comes from one of the top sectors of Morgon. Still young, but properly structured and dense, the wine has considerable potential. Aging in wood has added spice and rich tannins while leaving blackberry fruit right in place. Drink this wine from 2021.

16.5/20

Julia Harding, January 2021 (Vintage 2018)

Millésime 2018 ''40-year-old vines (average) planted on east-south-east-facing slopes; 7 ha in the Les Charmes climat. Light brown, sandy, silt soils, low in organic matter, on a vein of clay with large blocks of sandstone. Estate-vinified with a portion of the grapes being destemmed. Three- to four-week fermentation with manual daily pigeage for gentler extraction. Aged partially in wooden vats and French oak barrels for 9–10 months. Mid crimson. Intensely aromatic: perfumed dark-red fruit, gently floral, a light and attractive stemmy/herbal quality. On the palate, very finely textured, dry and elegant with good length. (JH) 13% Drink 2021 – 2026''
