Production notes
The 2020 vintage was very early and hot, and despite the rainy spring was marked by a dry summer. Thanks to the clay-limestone terroir, the Pitray vines did not suffer from water stress, and the fruit is very ripe but well-balanced. On tasting, the warmth of the vintage is first felt through notes of black fruit and very ripe tannins, then the terroir softens and tempers this expression. The wines here are greedy but velvety and refined.
Tasting notes
Notes of candied fruit, dried figs and currants, delicate despite the sensation of great ripeness. On the palate, this aromatic range is repeated with present but velvety tannins. Nina Mitjavile, consultant winemaker.
