About this winery

The project of Bodegas Volver was founded in 2004 by Rafael Cañizares, enologist through studies and viticulturist through his family tradition of four generations bound to the vine and wine. The pillars of the bodega are based on the repositioning of quality Spanish wines and recovering old indigenous vineyards which, either through low production or lack of generational succession, had been lost.

Production notes

The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and is aged in new French oak barrels for 14 months. The Quinta del 67 is bottled on the estate itself without filtering. The production of the 2017 vintage will be 25,000 bottles.

Tasting notes

A deep red color with purple hues in its youth. A complex nose with aromas of ripe dark berries, spices and balsamic notes. On the palate, the wine displays lots of structure, silky tannin and, again, lots of fruit with complexities of chocolate and liquorice. A long and persistent finish. Very powerful with good aging potential.

Thomas Matthews, February 2020 (Vintage 2017)

Round and polished, this red delivers expressive ripe raspberry, blackberry, mocha and spice flavors, with firm acidity and fresh acidity that imparts liveliness. Bold, in the modern style. Drink now through 2024. 5,000 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.
