Production notes

Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for about three weeks at a controlled temperature. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in wood.

Tasting notes

Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Spicy, deep nose with hints of oak, but quite true to site with minerally hints, too. Notes of tobacco leaf suggesting there is a bit of development going on. Gorgeous coating tannins and fresh, concentrated cherry fruit on the palate. Subtle, long, fragrant finish and a little mouth-watering.

Press reviews

Wine Spectator

Bruce Sanderson, October 2019 (Vintage 2015)

Offers cherry fruit, with mint, eucalyptus, wild thyme, mineral and spice aromas and flavors. Tightly wound, showing elements of tar and tobacco. Displays good balance overall. The sweet fruit leaves a lasting impression. Best from 2023 through 2042.

James Suckling, September 2018 (Vintage 2014)

Attractive ripe raspberries and maraschino cherries with a dusting of vanillin, leading to a palate with some assertive tannin chew and a tangy, cherry-plum finish. Give this time to settle. The structure is promising. Try from 2022.

James Suckling, November 2019 (Vintage 2015)

Very earthy and spicy on the nose with ripe fruit and undertones of dried flowers, tea and leather. Full-bodied, very tannic and powerful with a chewy and intense finish. Drink from 2021.
